Products — MB1 MicroBio Air Sampler

The MB1 MicroBio Air Sampler has a high-quality LCD display that shows sample volume in litters, a time delay feature, preset volume memory, battery level indicator, and more. It includes a padded carry case. The MicroBio PC Reporter software supplied with the unit allows you to quickly and effectively analyze the results. The stainless steel sampling head can accommodate 90mm petri dishes or 55mm contact plates. You can choose either of these low cost, readily available consumables

The large fluctuations in microbial levels found in these studies underline the necessity of an effective and well maintained air filtration system, good work practices, and regular monitoring of air quality using appropriate air sampling equipment.

The MB1 MicroBio Air Sampler is a self-contained, programmable, battery-operated portable unit. Using this inexpensive MicroBio sampler, it is possible for you to easily monitor levels of a whole range of micro-organisms, and know when to take corrective action.

Scientific Air Solutions market and supplies the MB1 MicroBio air samplers. These are the most economical samplers in the world for monitoring airborne micro-organisms or bioaerosols. These samplers collect airborne micro-organisms by drawing a stream of air at a constant flow rate of 100 liters/minute through a series of 1mm holes in a metal head.

The air stream then impinges onto a sterile culture medium in a 55mm contact plate or 90mm petri dish. After exposure to the air stream for a fixed period the contact plate is removed and incubated. The number of colonies which develop are counted enabling a calculation to be made of the concentration of micro-organisms in the air (cfu/m3 - colony forming units per cubic meter).

The MB1 housing is made of high-quality, impact-resistant black ABS plastic. It measures 196x100x40mm. The stainless steel sampling head is 100mm diam by 30mm deep.
